Spending the weekend at Fort Wilderness which is a part of Walt Disnery World me and my nephew Ryan have our own cabin to ourselves and enjoying the time together. It is so hard to believe that he is now in 8th grade and is just about as tall as me and will more than likely be as tall as his grandfather, my Dad. Time flys by way to fast it seems and before you know he will be driving and then college!
There are 8 of us total here this weekend and 5 of them will be running the Disney Marathon and I am not a part of the number...I am part of the 3 that will be waiting for them to cross the finish line. The race starts at 10:00pm this evening and the runners have until 3am to make it in, I am praying that our group makes it in way before 3am. I am personally not ready for run 12 miles but sooner or later I hope to be but time will tell.
My brother n law Raul is running and he is know to run like the wind.
My sister Lori is running but in my opinion should not be because of her knee problem but she feels her knee will be fine! But I am going to have to pray her thru this thing and trust everything will be fine. RUN LORI RUN!!!!!!
Susan is a close friend of ours she has ran forever, well as long as I have known her and thats a long time. If I have to give her a name to describe her it would be THE MIRACLE!!!!
Susan has gone thru and beat so many physical challenges over the past few years that if half of you knew what they were you would say WOW she is THE MIRACLE!!! God seriously brought her out of what some would think questionable. Susan is an inspiration to me and I am sure to others that know her as well.
Brian and Donna are two other close friends and they have been running for quite a while now and because they do not live close to me I do not have any descriptive words for you to get to know them from my point of view but what I am glad about is that Donna is going to keep up with Lori and that is awesome for Lori and others like me who would be worrying if it were any different.
I have enjoyed some time away and am looking forward to going to some parks tomorrow.
I will blog to let you know how they all do maybe tomorrow so keep a look out.
Time for a quick nap!

Are We Running Today?
Yes I ran today and was glad that I did. First of all I have been so speratic with my running that the getting in shape part has not worked but as of late its changing slowly. In the past my right knee has caused some set backs but now I where a brace and it does wonders. I have also lost 13 pounds in the last month and I feel that has helped me as well.
Today my friend Sarah said she was running and I decided to go. As soon as I got home I changed into my running gear and talked my self through while waiting for her to get to my house. Part of talking through it was a pep talk for myself and also asking God to help me through this run. My goal was to run without stopping for 3 miles and I was determined and I felt good so with that type of positive surrounding me I knew I had a good chance of making this happen. I went at my own comfortable pace and concentrated on not having to run a race against a clock. I ran the 3 miles with out stopping and I am very proud of myself :-).
If you are reading this and feel like your struggling at something make sure to not give up. A positive outlook can bring on amazing things. I found I had to find the positive in me and not from others when it comes to this running gig. After we hit the 3 miles Sarah gave me a high five and that was when I needed that positive from someone other than myself....that was a great moment. I know this sound small to some people but for me and the struggle with my knee has been a bummer but I have that under control now and am able to pay
attention when I am over doing it.
Now I am going to continue to do my best and not feel the pressure I created for myself before. Let's do this but do it the best you can for yourself.
Gotta Run..

A Goal In Mind?

My mind often wonders when I see people that are working towards a goal. In my mind I think will they stick with it or is it just something they are doing because they are in the moment or do they tell you they will do something and then over a period of time they just fizzle out. Their are many scenarios I can come up with that value my own opinion but they do not count. They only count for the person who has the goal in front of them whether it be for their own personal reasons or its a goal that was given to them to achieve! GOALS have always been a part of my life especially in the work place and its still in place today. I have always been in sales with whatever job that I have had and the bottom line is without the sells nothing happens. With any business something has to be sold for the doors to stay open.
Currently I have a young horse that is in training the horse is not capable of making goals for itself so I have to make it for her in hopes that she reaches the potential that I have set for her. Currently she has responded well to her trainer and from what I am told she has the attitude the potential and is athletic enough to make the cut so my goal for her is off to a great start. This brings me to the part where we are sometimes led to give other people goals to reach and again its up to them to reach them, we can not do it for them! "You can lead a horse to water but you can not make the horse drink"
Here is what I know! Having clarity in life is very important and at times I have some clouds in the way but I manage to get through it, but having the absence of a goal to be achieved, you have no standard for judging whether you are getting anywhere. In a nut shell....Your life can not go anywhere according to plan if you have no plan. Goals give you a feeling of purpose something that you can aim your life toward. When you accomplish the goals you have in front of you, you experience the joy of achievement. You have got to define what you want.

My friend Sarah is having riding lessons currently but in my mind I ask why? Sarah is a very seasoned rider she has ridden horses all her life and knows a heck of a lot in fact she taught me how to ride and she has broke many horses etc. Sarah wants to learn more from a trainer that has won many awards and has well known horses they have trained, her goal is to better herself and be able to show her horses and WIN. She told me one day "Karen, when I go into the show ring I go for one thing and that is to win." I say RIGHT ON....in fact with anything that we do we should always have that type of attitude and some days its just hard to find that and I am guilty of it but I have to pull my saggy panties up and move on!
Let's have faith in our God given abilities that we can achieve what is in front of us and to put the effort in it that needs to be put! I am sounding like a preacher or something but right now it feels good and I am taking these words to heart for myself.
GO FOR THE GOAL!
Fortunate are the persons,
Who in this life can find
A purpose that can fill their days,
And goals to fill their minds!
The World is filled with many people,
Content with where they are;
Not knowing joys success can bring,
No will to go that far.
Yet in this world there is a need
For people to lead the rest,
To rise above the "average" life,
By giving of their best!
Would you be the one who dares to try
When challenged by the task?
To rise to heights you've never seen,
Or is that too much to ask?
This is your day--a world to win,
Great purpose to achieve
Accept the challenge of your goals
And in your self!
That's it for now-gotta run!
