A Goal In Mind?

My mind often wonders when I see people that are working towards a goal. In my mind I think will they stick with it or is it just something they are doing because they are in the moment or do they tell you they will do something and then over a period of time they just fizzle out. Their are many scenarios I can come up with that value my own opinion but they do not count. They only count for the person who has the goal in front of them whether it be for their own personal reasons or its a goal that was given to them to achieve! GOALS have always been a part of my life especially in the work place and its still in place today. I have always been in sales with whatever job that I have had and the bottom line is without the sells nothing happens. With any business something has to be sold for the doors to stay open.

Currently I have a young horse that is in training the horse is not capable of making goals for itself so I have to make it for her in hopes that she reaches the potential that I have set for her. Currently she has responded well to her trainer and from what I am told she has the attitude the potential and is athletic enough to make the cut so my goal for her is off to a great start.
This brings me to the part where we are sometimes led to give other people goals to reach and again its up to them to reach them, we can not do it for them! "You can lead a horse to water but you can not make the horse drink"

Here is what I know! Having clarity in life is very important and at times I have some clouds in the way but I manage to get through it, but having the absence of a goal to be achieved, you have no standard for judging whether you are getting anywhere. In a nut shell....Your life can not go anywhere according to plan if you have no plan. Goals give you a feeling of purpose something that you can aim your life toward. When you accomplish the goals you have in front of you, you experience the joy of achievement. You have got to define what you want.

My friend Sarah is having riding lessons currently but in my mind I ask why? Sarah is a very seasoned rider she has ridden horses all her life and knows a heck of a lot in fact she taught me how to ride and she has broke many horses etc. Sarah wants to learn more from a trainer that has won many awards and has well known horses they have trained, her goal is to better herself and be able to show her horses and WIN. She told me one day "Karen, when I go into the show ring I go for one thing and that is to win." I say RIGHT ON....in fact with anything that we do we should always have that type of attitude and some days its just hard to find that and I am guilty of it but I have to pull my saggy panties up and move on!

Let's have faith in our God given abilities that we can achieve what is in front of us and to put the effort in it that needs to be put! I am sounding like a preacher or something but right now it feels good and I am taking these words to heart for myself.

GO FOR THE GOAL!

Fortunate are the persons,
Who in this life can find
A purpose that can fill their days,
And goals to fill their minds!

The World is filled with many people,
Content with where they are;
Not knowing joys success can bring,
No will to go that far.

Yet in this world there is a need
For people to lead the rest,
To rise above the "average" life,
By giving of their best!

Would you be the one who dares to try
When challenged by the task?
To rise to heights you've never seen,
Or is that too much to ask?

This is your day--a world to win,
Great purpose to achieve
Accept the challenge of your goals
And in your self!

That's it for now-gotta run!

It's about time!

This past weekend I took my road bike out of my spare bedroom and pumped up the FLAT tires!
I have decided that I need to put the bike to work, after all I bought it new from "The Flying Fish" in Tampa January 2009 and I have set my rear end on it only two times the second time was today after work. I rode for 20 minutes that totaled 5 miles and I have to admit I was out of breath and once my feet hit the concrete my legs were like noodles. This makes me aggravated at myself because to not long ago ( well ok ... a bit over a year) I was running and worked my self up to a point where I felt I was in shape to run 3 miles with out stopping but I overdid it and injured my knee and that kept me out of the loop for sometime. Since then I have wanted to get back at it and today was the day!!!!! Proud of my out of shape self to do 5 miles and I am determined to keep at it and add my running back into the mix. Its time to just do it and this also helps me keep my mind from not worrying about the day to day work stuff that can seem to take over and that is just not healthy. OH and one more tid-bit.....when you ride a bike that requires special shoes that lock into the pedal its important to remember that when dismounting!

Gotta Go its time to get some sleep.
